Ohana Terms of Service

Effective date: 27 October 2026
Last updated: 27 October 2026

1. About Ohana

Ohana is a private family organisation application created to help friends and family coordinate everyday activities. Features may include shared calendars, tasks, shopping lists, family planning, weather information, and integrations with third-party services.

Ohana is operated as a personal project and is currently available free of charge to invited friends and family members. It is not currently offered as a commercial subscription service.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ohana website, application, and associated services (collectively, the "Service").

The Service is operated by:

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Access and Accounts

Ohana is available by invitation to friends and family.

You must provide accurate information when registering and take reasonable steps to maintain the security of your account credentials.

You must not impersonate another person, attempt to access another user's account without authorisation, or circumvent the Service's access controls.

You are responsible for activity conducted through your account, subject to applicable law.

The operator may restrict invitations or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service and its users.

3. Google Sign-In

Ohana may allow you to authenticate using Google Sign-In.

Google authentication is used to establish your identity when accessing Ohana. Signing in with Google does not, by itself, authorise Ohana to access your Google Calendar or other Google services.

Access to additional Google services requires separate authorisation where applicable.

Google processes information associated with authentication in accordance with its own terms and privacy policies.

4. Google Calendar Integration

Ohana may offer an optional integration with Google Calendar.

If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, Ohana may access calendar information according to the permissions disclosed during Google's authorisation process.

The integration is intended to provide read-only calendar access. Ohana does not intend to create, modify, or delete events in your Google Calendar.

Connecting Google Calendar is optional and is not a requirement for using other Ohana features, except where a particular feature expressly depends on that integration.

Calendar information displayed or imported into a shared Ohana family space may be visible to authorised members of that space. You should consider this before sharing calendar information.

You may disconnect the integration using the available account controls or revoke access through your Google Account settings. The handling of previously retrieved information is described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Family Spaces and Shared Information

Ohana allows users to organise information within shared family spaces.

Depending on available features and permissions, members may be able to view, add, modify, or delete shared information, including calendar entries, tasks, shopping lists, and family plans.

You are responsible for reviewing who has access to your family space and ensuring that information you share is appropriate for its intended audience.

Removing a member does not necessarily remove information they previously viewed, copied, or otherwise retained.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Ohana responsibly and only for lawful purposes.

You must not attempt to compromise the security of the Service, access information without authorisation, distribute malicious software, interfere with the Service's operation, or use the application to harm other users.

The operator may take reasonable measures to address misuse and protect the Service and its users.

7. User Content

You retain the rights you hold in information and content you submit to Ohana.

You grant the operator permission to host, store, transmit, and process that information as reasonably necessary to operate, maintain, and secure the Service, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to share information about other people.

Ohana does not claim ownership of your content.

8. Privacy

Your use of Ohana is also governed by the Ohana Privacy Policy:

Privacy Policy: [Insert Privacy Policy URL]

The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, stored, shared, and deleted, including information processed through Google integrations.

Where applicable, personal data is processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection laws.

Ohana does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. Google user data is not used to train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

Information may be shared with authorised members of a family space where necessary to provide the features you choose to use.

Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory data protection rights.

9. Third-Party Services

Ohana may rely on third-party services to provide authentication, calendar integration, weather information, and other functionality.

Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Third-party services operate independently of Ohana, and changes to their availability or functionality may affect associated features.

10. Availability and Changes

Ohana is a personal project provided free of charge to a limited group of invited users.

We aim to keep the Service available and functioning properly, but uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.

Maintenance, technical issues, infrastructure problems, or third-party service interruptions may temporarily affect access.

The operator may modify or discontinue features as the project develops.

Where reasonably practical, the operator may notify users of significant changes or planned discontinuation.

11. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Ohana at any time and request account deletion using available account controls or by contacting the operator.

The operator may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, address misuse, or respond to security or legal concerns.

Where appropriate and legally permissible, notice will be provided before access is suspended or terminated.

Personal data will be handled following account termination in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.

12. Disclaimers and Liability

Ohana is intended to support everyday family organisation.

Information provided through the Service, including weather information and reminders, may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. The Service should not be relied upon as the sole means of managing emergencies or critical deadlines.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

Your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

13. Changes to These Terms

The operator may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or applicable legal requirements.

The latest version will be published at the designated Terms of Service URL, together with its effective date.

Material changes will be communicated where appropriate or required by law. Where explicit consent is required, it will be obtained before the changes apply to an existing agreement.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Slovenia, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions and other applicable laws.

Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
